How long is the tour and what does it cost?

A tour typically last around an hour depending on size and how inquisitive our guest are. The cost of a walking tour is $17 for people 12 and over and $12 for children under 12.

Where do the tours begin?

The tours begin by the old company store located along highway 308 just on the outskirts of town. The guide will meet you there collect payment and begin in the lawn in front of the store.

Does it cost to take pictures on the property?

The cost for professional photographers is $10 per client. This permits photography in the area around the Laurel Valley Store & Museum (not including the house behind the store, which a private home). It also allows for photos along the road with historic homes and mill in the background, provided no one crosses any fences or wanders too far from the road.

What are the hours of operation and tour schedule?

The Laurel Valley Store & Museum is run entirely by volunteers, with typical hours from 10:30 am - 4:30 pm seven days a week (minus holidays). However, with volunteers, hours sometimes vary from day to day. To ensure the store is open, it’s always best to call ahead at the store, (985) 446-7456.

Tours are offered daily at 10:00 am or 2:00 pm seven days a week (minus holidays). Tours must be booked through the site at least 48 hours in advance to ensure a reservation. For same-day tours, call us at (985) 492-0782 and we’ll do our best to squeeze you in.
